Castanea sativa or European chestnut
The European sweet chestnut is simply known in Italy as a Chestnut tree and it is a species of flowering plant belonging to the fagaceae and to the castanea family. It is in fact the only native plant still to be found in Europe. Chestnut trees are typical Mediterranean- type of trees. In Italy they grow in woods and forests and can be found in most of the Italian regions, where , in the course of the past centuries, dozens of different sub-species and varieties have developed and spread all over.

The vase is not included. The tree is delivered in a pvc pot. (Not suitable for furnishing purposes)
